What Is Your Why??

We always talk about the need to keep digging, keep pushing, keep fighting, etc., but when that feeling of defeat or giving up in the moment of weariness arrives, what will drive you to keep going no matter what? If no one motivates you to continue moving forward, if there weren’t any blog posts or podcasts to inspire you, what would you do?

Self-motivation isn’t easy, and it’s also just a feeling. We aren’t always going to be motivated by others or ourselves, so self-discipline and focus is key. In this life, you can’t depend on others to push you toward greatness; that’s something each individual has to discover internally on their own. A person can have intellect all day and night, but without the passion incorporated, it’s harder for them to cultivate their drive for reaching goals.

Sometimes we have to fall back for a season to view the picture from a different angle and larger scope. Often, we can be so close to a situation that we don’t even see the harm of stagnation we’ve placed ourselves in. Taking the time to discover who you are is essential to ultimately discovering part of your divine purpose. This is part of your personal growth track, and I’m speaking from experience. Don’t consume yourself entirely with the world around you that you miss the gifts placed on the inside of you that are waiting to be birthed.

When you wake up in the mornings, what is that spark that gets you going? I remember I used to hate waking up early, and it's because I didn't have a why to my actions. Don't do something just because you think that's what you're supposed to do. For me, I love to make people happy. I love to strategize, plan and execute. I love to help others get through dark times even though I may be going through my own. I know when a new day rises, I have another opportunity to get closer to a goal or accomplishment, which in return makes my family and friends proud because of the many sacrifices they’ve made for me along the way. And that’s my why!

This week shut everything off for a while and brain-dump your thoughts. Write it all out until your why is evident. Once you know your why, you’ll be able to rise earlier in the mornings, eliminate procrastination, remain focused and gain the ability to keep fighting towards another day.

Sending love and positive vibes your way! Yvonne Camille
