With a decade of strategic communications, PR, branding and advertising experience, Yvonne Taunton has cultivated a career in helping businesses and organizations reach their goals and garner effective media exposure.

 

As a communications specialist for the Alabama Power Company, Yvonne serves in the Department of Public Relations, Strategic and Integrated Communications, leading key initiatives for Corporate Sustainability, External Affairs and the Alabama Power Foundation.

 

Prior to her role at APC, Yvonne served as a senior public relations specialist for the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) covering areas such as the O'Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center, Department of Surgical Oncology, Radiation Oncology and Gynecology Oncology, and she also served on the client service team at Birmingham-based advertising and marketing agency o2ideas as an account executive.

 

A 2012 graduate of the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Yvonne holds a BA in Public Relations with a minor in Communication Studies. She also holds an MBA from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
